If not the most, one of the most progressive sound wizards locally, Similarobjects proves time and time again that sound can be stretched and pushed in different spectrums. If artists are branded through their chosen style or genre, Similarobjects thrives in being fluid. A pro and con arguably, but we see no harm, so why not right? When asked about his sound, we didn’t get the usual answer, but we’re not complaining either, “There have been moments in the past where I make a conscious effort to achieve a “sound” but nowadays I just strive for a release of energy and expression. For lack of a better term you can call it a “hadouken” or a “hamehameha” of pure emotion/feelings. Atleast that’s how I look at it.”

In this episode of Sound Fiesta, Similarobjects performs an unreleased track with his collaborator VMPRMYTH. They met back in 2016 for Soundlab in Malaysia which immediately sparked a good sound relationship. “RWND is the most meticulously crafted collaboration I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on with anyone” Similarobjects shared. To give you an idea, imagine a whole futuristic 90’s movie’s soundtrack cramped into 5mins., you get RWND. But in Similarobjects’ words, “It just takes you on a crazy journey with its highs and lows and it’s unique sound spaces. It almost sounds like a secret handshake or a pact between two dudes in a very deep relationship with sound.”

You can know more and follow Similarobjects through his online pages: Facebook, Soundcloud and Spotify.
