Mich Cervantes, a freelance illustrator by day, expresses her eccentric character and interest to sound through BEDSPACER. When asked about the history of Mich’s electronic persona, she shares, “BEDSPACER began last 2015 when an alien from a faraway planet came to me at my doorstep. He came from a planet that gave prophetic importance to the documentation, synthesis and translation of sound. He busted his gear pretty bad on a mission to record and document sounds from Earth, so I’ve offered him my closet as a space where he can fix everything. Sometimes he lets me sing over or sample the noises he makes while fixing his gear.” This explains how experimental BEDSPACER tracks can get – music that have an off-this-world kind of vibe – mix of dreamy, upbeat and pop-esque. But she also expressed her current journey into crafting a more consistent sound – something to look forward to.

For now, she shares to us “Elixir” a track inspired by a needed beach trip with friends due to a rough start to her 2018. It conveys the struggle and as well as the healing that she personally experienced through the trip. Watch her perform live at the Sound Fiesta platform above.
