Listening to an artist or band with your headphones up at full volume or your speakers turned up in your car is great. However, you can’t deny that hearing them play live is infinitely better – no expensive headphone or speakers can match the feeling you get when you share the same energy with your favorites, with a group of fans who love them as much as you do.
And while the Philippine concert scene has indeed gone up a notch, bringing one big international act after the other and consistently selling out arenas and concert grounds, we ultimately find ourselves wanting to go back to where we all started: small, infinite shows where we can watch our favorite bands and artists up close, in a laidback set up and without seating arrangements, sections, and barricades.
That’s where Karpos Live comes in. Embodying the simplest formula for everyone’s live music experience – uplifting homegrown acts, presenting international acts, and giving everyone a damn good time. This was exactly what happened in Mix 1.2 last July 24 at Vertis Tent with electric R&B duo HONNE serenading the crowd, and funk hiphop artist Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals giving everyone a groove party to remember.
Bringing in two big, up and coming names in the international music scene to the local stage in an intimate setting with 90-minute sets is the perfect formula for a fresh music experience and an amazing time. Thankfully, it doesn’t end there.
If you missed Mix 1.2, Karpos Live will be back on August for Mix 2.1 with London-based multi-instrumentalist Tom Misch and Australian electronic band Vancouver Sleep Clinic, and that’s certainly another show to definitely catch!
Karpos Live Mix 2.1 is happening on August 23 at Vertis Tent. You may purchase tickets at Ticketnet.
