In this episode of Sound Fiesta, KJah raps about the day-to-day struggles of the ordinary Filipino. But you may not notice it if you’re simply bouncing along to its tunes as ‘Ngiti’ takes on fast and lively beats—almost anthemic in its vibe.

And that’s where its beauty lies. Amidst all the descriptive bars on the Filipinos’ struggles is a message that everyone knows all too well—ngiti. Known for their resilience, Filipinos have long been familiar with this. And as someone who identifies himself with the common Filipino, KJah shared that he too experiences these daily struggles as a regular employee—which is essentially the inspiration behind the collaboration.

Also an obvious distinction of the song is the heavy reference of its melodies to old-school OPM hiphop—which is a big inspiration for KJah himself.
