“Matryoshka Principle”: a similarobjects fundraiser
At its simplest, the Russian nesting doll is symbolic of a chain; linking generations until you find the baby nestled in the center. Despite these dolls being similar objects, what we hope to explore are the things that make each generation different from the next: with each link in the chain being made at a different point in time, it follows that the materials and methods should change alongside their surroundings. With every layer that is shed (or regrown), we move through a series of gains and losses, adapting our perspective and approach to music with the goal of enhancing each link, and ultimately growing as an artist. There is no perfect progression, but via this belief hope to remain connected to ourselves at all times, and not only grow in the present, but also build upon our past; finally attaining a clearer sense of direction within the ever-encroaching future.
