When asked about the biggest move she made in her episode from Globe’s PORTRAITS, Saab Magalona-Bacarro, blogger, singer, entrepreneur, and now, a mom, replied, “Having a child is the biggest move I’ve ever made. It completely changed my life and I don’t think any amount of preparation could have prepared me for this new life stage!”

Being a mother turned her life 180 degrees. Her son named after her grandfather, Pancho, never fails to prove every day that miracles do happen. The social media world often get their daily dose of Pancho’s cuteness through her accounts with the hashtag #DailyPancho. But it isn’t always the highs, of course, there are times when she has her doubts. With the impact of a human life on her hands with every decision, the so-called “Mom Guilt” is real. But she always makes sure to remind herself that this life grew inside her, and she is capable of making the right decisions for her child.

Last year, she shared the heart-breaking news that one of her twins passed. The online support for their little family was outpouring. Grieving is a different process for everybody, Saab moved forward—and still is—through reconnecting with her online friends and followers. But she couldn’t go back to blogging yet, she’s still not comfortable sharing what she writes, so she recently switched from writing words and stories to speaking truths and laughs through podcasts with her husband Jim Bacarro.

Saab is no stranger to the digital world. In 2003, she started blogging and sharing her life with her friends and followers. On their podcast entitled Wake Up with Jim and Saab, launched June 2018, they talk about anything and everything under the sun. Saab wanted to give her followers something light and fun. She has always wanted to share the spotlight with her husband, and she saw this as the perfect opportunity for it—all the while showing the world how awesome Jim’s sense of humor is.

Making big moves means having big responsibilities and a ton of things on one’s to-do lists. Between making podcasts, being in a band, running a business, and being a mom, Saab surely has her fair share of busy days. She makes sure to tackle it one day at a time, never forgetting to cherish the days where she can work from home. “I’m also very lucky that in all of this, I am partners with my husband,” Saab says. And with all the hustle, she knows to take it easy on her body and take rests every now and then. Her family takes Sundays seriously—no working, just resting, and getting ready for the new week to come.

For people wanting to make their own big moves, Saab recommends trusting your instincts, believing in yourself, and just doing the big jump. Saab shares, “Some people wait until they are financially ready before making a big move—I say, you’re NEVER going to be financially ready. As long as you’re emotionally ready and committed to whatever it is you wanna do: GO FOR IT!”
