Commonwealth Spring/Summer 2019 Editorial Spotlights New Brands in Old Manila

As Spring/Summer deliveries continue to make its way to stores and boutiques around the world, cross-continental retailer, Commonwealth, highlights new deliveries in an editorial that features new brands under their roster.

The editorial is shot on location at The Henry Manila, a hotel located in the heart of Pasay that was built around repurposed art-deco inspired houses from the 1950’s. Capturing the beauty and nostalgia of old Manila, the compound is also home to art galleries that house local artists and designers, and serves as an apt backdrop for Commonwealth’s seasonal showcase.

DJ Badkiss and artist, Kiko Escora, are cast in the editorial wearing select pieces from the diverse set of new brands. Joining the roster this season is New York City-based brand Engineered Garments, a label known for their contemporary take on menswear staples; Needles, a Japanese brand known for blending old Americana and western styles with Japanese textiles; Swedish cult favorite brand, Our Legacy; and UNDERCOVER, the Japanese fashion label known for its eclectic designs inspired by punk rock and American culture.

With an ever-evolving brand list, and upcoming projects, including a collaboration with Vans Vault, Commonwealth continues to solidify its position as one of Manila’s top retail destinations by providing customers local access to global brands.
