Passion is arguably one of the most elusive things. Questions like, “How far can it really take you?” or “Is it really ever enough” arise. While we all know that the recipe to success requires a myriad of other things, this film zeroes in on passion—how it can often be the unifying key, a potent force to keep one forward, and a beacon to keep carrying on.
Representing different stories of Filipino creatives with Kiko Escora, Edwin Nombre, Mike Swift, Noli Coronado, and Lei Magluyan—the film, through its stunning visuals, shows a mix of both the struggles and successes of these talented individuals side by side. The ups and downs you face when you choose to follow your dreams, your passion, your calling. Because as beautiful and strong as passion can be, pursuing it comes with pain, too, and losses—whether it’s caused by external factors or internal battles. After all, we’re humans.
And as humans we falter, we fail, but above all else, we’re filled with burning desire—to make a difference in this world, to create something beautiful, to express oneself, to reach success. And this desire that fuels our dreams is what keeps us going amidst hitting rock bottom or suffering one too many losses because each step brings us closer and closer to our goal. And with each taste of success, we’re reborn. So we do it again and again. And again.
To encapsulate that feeling, the energy, and the moments that spark it, we worked with Vonas to produce BURNING — a short film that also hopes to become an inspiration to everyone to keep pushing and to continue to do things we are passionate about.
