Curator’s Lab is an open-ended inquiry about curatorial practices within the context of contemporary art. Under Kwago’s publishing and curatorial platform Comma, Roy Voragen and Czyka Tumaliuan started Curator’s Lab to provide a collaborative space to question, investigate, discover and test different approaches to making, showing, experiencing and evaluating exhibitions.
On August 29, Curator’s Lab opens conversations on the roles curators play in contemporary art. The forum aims to understand the curator’s thought processes and creativity, and how these are transformed and translated into exhibitions and ongoing discourses.
For the forum, we have invited curators who work in institutions and independently to see diverse viewpoints on curating. We hope to learn from each curator’s unique way of curating, how they work with artists and how they respond to various contexts, spaces and challenges.
We are very thankful to Museum of Contemporary Art and Design and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde for providing the first curators lab forum a home.
