For this year’s Golden Pin Design Award, we partnered with the organization to bring the prestigious design awards and its influential selection of works and creations to the Philippine creative community. Golden Pin Design Award was established in 1981 in Taiwan that is handled and executed by the Taiwan Design Center (TDC). Its purpose is to commend and propagate outstanding innovation in design.
The 2019 Golden Pin Design Award announced a total of 71 finalists from different countries and regions — Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Germany. All the finalists are in the running for winning Best Design this coming December 5 at the award ceremony in Taipei.
The 71 finalists were selected by the 10 Final Selection jury members last September 23 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei from the 624 Design Mark winners. There are 20 finalists for communication design, 18 for product design, 20 for spatial design, and 6 for integration design.
All the 71 finalists plus more make up the 100+ selected designs and concepts that the Golden Pin Design Award now exhibits at the Taiwan Design Museum. You can view the Golden Pin Design Award 2019 Winners’ Exhibition themed “Gala @ 23:59” until April 2020, where they transformed the exhibition space into a banquet hall to consume award-winning designs for inspiration as they would dine at a gala.
“The banquet-exhibition space consists of one main hall and two side booths showcasing the award-winning designs and concepts as culinary masterpieces on dining tables. Layers of sleek and futuristic spatial design are mixed together with accents such as neon signage. Visitors can move between the tables and sample different dishes like a buffet, collecting morsels of design inspiration along the way.”
