Tomcat performing at Sound Fiesta
Breaking into the radar, Tomcat dropped their self-produced debut EP titled Are We. While not chronologically arranged to tell a story, Are We plunges us down into the different stages of a relationship through bittersweet lyrics and silky melancholic beats perfect for a late night playthrough.
Are We, the EP’s carrier single, tells a story of the excruciating uncertainties of an undefined relationship. Busy Girl, meanwhile, is about pining for someone and the hopes of being given a chance at love. One Sided, the EP’s last track, is about the uneven pains of a break up, where one is completely taken by surprise. With songs of varying and relatable themes, the EP leaves us with more things to love despite the three-track size of the playlist.
Tomcat boasts a diverse roster of artists with Jaren Ladia and Asch Catabona at the helm. The rest of the members include Paul Regalado (Drummer) Stephen Dela Cruz (Bassist), Miguel Ilagan (Guitarist), Enrique Galaites (Saxophonist) and Patrick Armamento (Trombonist). Expect more from the band this year as Are We serves as a teaser for a full-length album. A music video is also in the works together with a live version of the tracks.
